Barbering, level 3 media

  The Brief I have been contacted by the Salon professionals dept located at Sunderland college city campus as they would like me to produce a tutorial guide about specific barbering techniques in order to be used as a learning tool for some of their students. To be more specific they would like this made for their level two and three students in order to show and teach them more about the course, as this will be used in this way I will have to think about things such as time, pace and editing techniques. Time Planning the time for the video will be key as it could be the difference between very effective and is not very effective. This is because if the video is too long then the students will get distracted and will no longer pay attention to the video. On the other hand, if the video is fairly short and captures their attention then chances are they will pay more attention to it and learn from it.   This is an instructional video I created in order to understand the basics of how to make instructional videos. I recorded this instructional video in a first-person perspective in order to make the viewer feel as if they are the ones making the product, I believe this was effective in order to make them relate more with the video and see how simple that task was to carry out.  This will also make it appear to seem easier as it is set in a homely environment which would make it relate with the viewer as the person watching will probably be at home trying the instructions out. In the video, I tried to stray away from normal codes and conventions in order to make the video more interesting and to make a unique product. I achieved this by taking a more cinematic approach and trying to implement seamless transitions and a variety of camera angles and shots to keep the viewer interested.
